How To Clean Up Your Upholstered Kitchen Chairs

Posted on: 20 September 2019

When it comes to your dining room chairs, sometimes you want something that is comfortable and not hard and unforgiving. If you have decided to use upholstered chairs in your kitchen, you need to know how to clean your chairs and how to take care of them. One of the best ways to clean your upholstered dining room chairs is with a steam machine. Here, learn how to use a steam machine to keep your chairs clean.

Clean with a Cloth First

First, you are going to want to take a big bowl and fill it up with steaming hot water. The water needs to be really hot in order to get the best possible clean. Add a few drops of dish soap to the hot water. Then, take a microfiber cloth and dip it in the hot soapy water. Take the cloth and give your entire chair a quick scrub. When you scrub your chair, be sure to cover the sides, seat, and back of the chair. You want to cover the entire area. You need to get the entire area wet so that you don't end up with water stains on your chairs.

Take Care of the Stains

Once your chair is completely wet, spray any areas that have stains with hydrogen peroxide. Allow the hydrogen peroxide to soak in for about ten minutes. This will help break up any stains that are present in the chair. You can spray only the spots that you notice, or if your chairs are really soiled, you can spray the entire soiled area.

Use the Steam Cleaner

Now it is time to use the steam cleaner. With most handheld steam cleaners, you can use either a scrub brush or a microfiber cloth. The microfiber cloth is great if you have a delicate fabric on your dining room chairs, and the scrub brush is great if you have a heartier material on your chairs.

Take the steam cleaner and run it over the fabric. Run the steam cleaner over the chair in a grid-like pattern; this will help ensure that you cover the entire chair. You may need to scrub a bit more on any soiled or stained area. Be sure to go over the entire chair, including the sides and back, as you use the steam cleaner.

Now all you need to do is allow the chair to dry, and your chair will look like it is brand new. For more assistance, contact companies that provide upholstery cleaning in your area.
