Are They Insured?

Be sure the company is insured in the event of an accident or some type of damage occurs to their equipment. You don't want to be responsible for any of these costs, so be sure they are insured.

How Long Have They Been Cleaning Houses?

Is this a brand new company, or have they been in business for a long time? Find out if they have some references they can provide you with so you can check out their work firsthand and get some feedback from other clients. If it's a new business, they may have some kinks to work out with their business, and you may not want to be the guinea pig.

Do Employees Need To Pass A Background Check?

These people will be in your home and around your most prized possessions. You want to be able to trust the people coming into your home and not feel an uneasiness when they're at your house. Be sure these people are pre-screened and have passed a criminal background check.

What Type Of Cleaning Do They Provide Specifically?

Be sure you know ahead of time what type of cleaning they will be performing. Is it going to simply be vacuuming and dusting, or do they provide deep cleaning as well? Will they scrub the hard surface floors throughout your home and sanitize bathrooms or kitchens? Ask specifically what type of cleaning the company will be doing at your home.

Is Their Service Guaranteed?

What happens if you aren't satisfied with the cleaning service that was provided? Is the service guaranteed? Will someone come back out to re-clean an area that wasn't cleaned properly? Find out what type of assurance and guarantees they offer, and if they check up on how satisfied you are with the service you are getting. 

Be sure to get everything in writing when hiring a home cleaning service and ask questions before you hire them. These people will be in your home, so be sure you are comfortable with the employee coming to your home and the company itself.
